WHO IS IT FOR?
The Craft of Organising is for experienced organisers who are involved in campaigning and developing an industrial strategy. Craft of Organising is an ideal program for future lead organisers.
AIMS

To give organisers the opportunity to review and update the application of organising frameworks.

To give organisers the opportunity to develop the high level skills associated with campaigning and developing an industry strategy.

To examine the role of education in developing organisers, delegates and activists.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Plan to improve their use of the organising frameworks and learn from other unions good practice;

Learn about the latest trends in the industrial relations climate and the capacity of unions to achieve growth and effectiveness;

Develop more complex campaign skills and learn how to link campaigns to a strategy for their industry;

Learn about the critical role of planning in all aspects of a campaign, including the need to maintain campaign plans and ensure accountability;

Put this learning into practice through a campaigning scenario;

Explore how to develop community and political involvement in campaign activities;

Understand the role of education and practice applying training skills to delegate and activist development.

COURSE DURATION
Two Weeks (Split)
Craft of Organising is scheduled in two five day blocks and participants complete an extensive project in between. It is delivered as both a residential and non-residential course.
