ME Bank has expanded its preferential Super Member product range to include Super Members Term Deposits (SMTD).
SMTD is a Term Deposit with a bonus interest rate of up to 0.25% p.a.
for members of ME Bank’s participating unions and super funds.
For example, the three month term is currently 6.0% p.a. for members of participating unions and super funds,
whereas the Standard Term Deposit rate, available to the general public, is 5.75% p.a.
The opening balance for any term is now only $1,000. Added to this benefit, you can now choose the term that suits you from one month to 24 months. If your term is more than twelve months you can choose to either have your annual interest added to the principal or have it paid to a nominated account.
Best yet, you can apply online. If you’re already an ME Bank customer you can apply for a Super Members Term Deposit Account or change your maturity instructions over the phone. This facility is available for single account holder accounts only.
ME Bank’s participating union and super fund and members already earn a discount on their home loan with Super Members Home Loans.
The recent launch of this preferential deposit product for super fund and union members coincided with the launch of ME Bank’s national brand advertising campaign, which reaffirms the Bank’s alliance with the union and industry super fund movements.
For more information call 1300 309 374 or visit mebank.com.au
Interest rates are current as at Monday 17/05/2010 and subject to change. The Super Members Term Deposit interest rates are up to 0.25% p.a. more than the interest rates for an ME Bank Standard Term Deposit. You will get the interest rate that applies to your deposit on the day your application is received. Rates are applicable for amounts of $1,000 to $500,000. For rates above $500,000 contact ME Bank on 1300 309 374. Fees and charges may apply. Terms and conditions available on request. This is general information only and you should consider if this product is appropriate for you. See mebank.com.au for eligible super funds and unions. Members Equity Bank Pty Ltd ABN 56 070 887 679.

A record number of 100,000 Australians chose to dedicate their Mother’s Day morning to raising funds for breast cancer research by walking or running in Mother’s Day Classic events across the nation.
This year for the first time a national ‘Women’s Rights At Work Team’ completed the 4km walk in all capital city events. What a fantastic day it was!
A big thank you to all those union members who walked for women’s rights and to raise funds for breast cancer research. The Women’s Rights At Work team will be walking again in the 2011 Mothers Day Classic. Keep an eye on the Member Connect website for information on how to get involved.

ME Bank is the major sponsor of the

The challenge for the 2010 conference was how to build on the success of the last decade to build capacity and grow – to win industry campaigns, activate our base, engage the broader community to build strength. Over 500 delegates attended this very successful event. The conference provided a great forum for organisers, campaigners, educators and leaders to share ideas and learn from each other. Among the many highlights was Jeff Lawrence’s address to organisers – to read the full speech
