The petition of certain citizens of Australia draws the attention of the Houses and the Panel to the fact that:
WE BELIEVE that Australians should have health and safety, workers’ compensation and rehabilitation rights at work that meet the minimum standards detailed in the Charter.
WE SEEK amendments to legislation in all jurisdictions to meet the minimum standards detailed in the Charter.
WE OPPOSE businesses swapping OHS and workers’ compensation schemes in an attempt to avoid their responsibilities and obligations and oppose any legislative instrument designed to allow scheme swapping to occur.
And we, your petitioners, ask that the Government upholds Australians’ rights at work.
