Industry super funds have continued their strong performance, taking eight of the top 10 spots in the SuperRatings fund crediting survey in the balanced option for the year to September 2007.

Executive Manager of the Industry Super Network, David Whiteley, said the latest results confirmed industry super funds as the leaders in terms of performance in the superannuation sector.

"The industry super model - innovative asset allocation, low fees, no sales commissions, mutual ownership - is clearly the most effective model of retirement savings.

"Over one, five and seven years industry super funds dominate the performance data.

"The financial advice industry should take its head out of the sand and start to recognise what consumers have already realised - industry super funds are delivering greater retirement savings for their members.”
